Today, there's a significant risk of severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds and even isolated tornadoes possible, especially during the late morning and early afternoon. Heavy rain is expected, with the potential for localized flooding given rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches, on top of recent rainfall over the region. While some rain-cooled air might limit the severe threat, conditions are still favorable for strong storms.

Saturday brings another round of potentially severe weather, again with damaging winds and tornadoes possible. Lots of moisture in the atmosphere means that any storms that do develop will be capable of producing very heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of flooding. We will be monitoring these storms closely and providing updates as they develop.
