HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - An Horry County murder victim’s son is coming forward, with a little more than a week now separating him from the justice he’s been seeking for two decades.

“There’s absolutely nothing I can say or do to save his life. He has to answer to his maker, and maybe he’s made peace with God. I don’t know. That’s up to him,” said Roger Turner, Henry Turner’s son.

Roger Turner offered a clear message for Stephen Stanko, the man who murdered his father in Conway in 2005.

On April 7, 2005, Stanko bound, beat and strangled his girlfriend Laura Ling to death while he beat and raped Ling’s daughter, who was a minor at the time, in their Murrells Inlet home.

Stanko also slit the daughter’s throat to try and kill her, but she survived.
