AIKEN , S.C. (WJBF) - The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department to host the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 26, at 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the City of Aiken Public Pool at the 416 Kershaw Street NE, Aiken, SC 29801.
The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson was created in 2010 as a platform to support public education about safer water practices and to build awareness about the critical importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning.
Children ages 3-17 and their parents are invited to this free event to help prevent drowning, the second leading cause of injury-related death of children. Participants will be instructed on how to safely enjoy the water.
More than 600 waterparks, aquatic centers and swim schools will host the life-saving lesson,
