EAST AURORA, N.Y. — East Aurora Police responded to reports of a car driving through a local business Thursday evening.

Dispatchers received numerous 911 calls just before 6:30 p.m. that a 2018 Jeep Wrangler had driven through the storefront window of Pizza Del Aureo's in the Oakwood Plaza.

According to investigators, a 16-year-old teen with a learners permit meant to put the car in reverse, but mistakenly put the car in drive. The teen was driving with a legal licensed operator in the vehicle at the time.

There were no reported injuries and no structural damage, according to East Aurora Police. The business remained open after boarding up their broken windows.

Inside the restaurant, co-owner Bill Aures was preparing orders when the crash happened just feet away.
