CARROLLTON, Ky. (June 5, 2025) - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 5 in Campbellsburg has been requested by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 5, around 2:00 a.m. ET on KY-55 in Carroll County.

The preliminary investigation indicates an off-duty CCSO Deputy encountered a suspicious vehicle parked on private property on KY-55. After a brief interaction, the occupant in the vehicle accelerated and drove in the direction of the deputy, who then discharged his agency-issued firearm. The individual fled the area, driving north on KY-55. Shortly after leaving the scene, the vehicle crashed into a wooded area.
