A Florida high school student went viral after he crashed into a classmate while backflipping on stage during his graduation ceremony.

Gavin Robinson , 17, stopped in the middle of the stage during South Plantation High School's commencement at the Rick Case Arena at Nova Southeastern University on Sunday (June 1) and performed his stunt, but landed on a fellow graduate, who identified herself publicly as Amelia in a TikTok post showing the accident, which had more than 3.7 million views in just three days.

“When I took off into the air and felt myself hit my classmate, I thought, ‘Oh this can’t be happening,'” Robinson told PEOPLE .

The accident played out seconds after Amelia's name was called and she walked across the stage, adjusting her cap as Robinson crashed into her.
