GENOA TWP., MI — Two people are in critical condition after they were electrocuted during a construction mishap southeast of Howell in Livingston County.

Employees on a construction site on Latson Road and Grand River Avenue in Genoa Township were pouring concrete around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, when the spreader from the truck hit a primary power line, causing it to break and fall, according to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

The falling power line struck two employees, electrocuting them, police said. Both were taken in critical condition to the University of Michigan Hospital.

The investigation was turned over to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration, police said.
