LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Office of Inspector General has released a report into mail delays that have impacted Kentuckians.
The investigation was conducted the week of March 31 and looked into three mail centers in Louisville – the Iroquois Station, Middletown and PRP branches.
According to the audit, the Iroquois station had issues with package scanning while all three branches had issues with delayed mail, property conditions and other issues.
They also identified issues related to safety and security.
One example from the extensive report showed that on April 1 at the Middletown branch, there were more than 1,300 delayed letters and flats. They said the mail was not reported as delayed and management there told investigators it was delayed because it was received late by the L
