PHOENIX (AZFamily) — As a ridge of high pressure builds this weekend, our hottest weather of the year is on the way.

The Valley is set to warm up today with a high of 103. The average temperature for today is 102, so this is slightly above average for this time of year. However, temperatures will rise well above average into the weekend. This will bring in a moderate heat risk this weekend into early next week.

A high of 106 is expected on Saturday and then 108 on Sunday. The most recent time we hit 108 degrees was Oct. 8 of last year.

On Monday, we have 109 degrees forecast, but it’s possible that could be our first 110 day of the year. The most recent time we hit 109 or warmer was Oct. 7 of last year.
