ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — Atascosa County and the City of Jourdanton are remembering a voice that helped everyone when they needed it the most.

Andrew Guerra was a 911 dispatcher with the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office for 13 years.

Last Wednesday, May 28, he lost his battle against kidney disease.

Before his funeral on Friday, June 6, the deputies he served alongside found a powerful way to honor his legacy.

Inside the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office, you can feel the silence.

"People were like, oh, I had to call 911 today, but, once I knew it was Andrew on the line, like, I'm good," said Amanda Guerra, Andrew's wife.

Guerra helped calm countless people in crisis.
