BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The further south you go, traditions run stronger like respect for those who have passed away.

A funeral procession doesn’t always happen, but when it does, it can mean a lot to loved ones when traffic comes to a slow crawl for them to head to the cemetery. As Bowling Green grows, there might be some newcomers who are unaware or not accustomed to such a practice as yielding to the line of cars but it is a sign of respect as well as state law.

Interrupting a funeral procession is a Class B misdemeanor in Kentucky which is something the state takes seriously, that interruption can in some cases land someone in jail for up to 90 days.
