High-flying fun will soon return to Longview during the annual Great Texas Balloon Race.

Hot air balloons will sail through the skies above the city as part of the U.S. Nationals Hot Air Balloon Championship, which is held in conjunction with GTBR and is set 6:30 a.m. June 9 through 15.

The Great Texas Balloon Race for pilots not competing in the national championship and the Young Guns competition for pilots who aren’t experienced enough to compete in the other races will take place the mornings of June 13 to 15 shortly after the national competition begins.

Grounded activities for families and community members are set at the Longview Convention Complex on June 13 and 14 during the annual Great Texas Balloon Race Festival featuring music, vendors, a balloon glow and more. Country musi
