What a difference a week makes. This time last Friday, the Orioles were on pace for a 56-win season as they continually lost games for all kinds of reasons on different days. The idea of any kind of prolonged winning streak seemed impossible to achieve for this team. Then, seemingly out of nowhere: Six straight wins, with the chance to extend that against a slumping Athletics team this weekend.

In today’s episode of the podcast, I’m delighted about the good things that are finally starting to happen, especially the ascent of Adley Rutschman from the depths when it comes to batting. And even though I know better than to indulge in the math, I tried to figure out where things stand for the Orioles to get to a place where, by the trade deadline, the idea of making a run seems to be doable:
