INDIANAPOLIS — INDOT says it has issued over 25,000 warnings and is seeing slower speeds in the first month of "Safe Zones" speed camera enforcement on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Enforcement of the state's speed control pilot program began in early May in the Clear Path I-465/I-69 construction zone. Since then, violation warnings have been issued for vehicles going more than 11 mph over the speed limit.

"Overall, we’re seeing slower speeds in the Clear Path work zone," INDOT Commissioner Lyndsay Quist said in a statement. "Speed is the leading factor in fatal crashes, and our goal is to create safer conditions for drivers, their passengers and road workers."
