PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) - Pike County deputies responded to a "major accident" on Highway 98 on Friday, June 6.

Pike County Sheriff Wally Jones said the crash occurred on the highway near Robert Jones Road.

As of Friday morning, Highway 98 was shut down while crews responded to the scene. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice.

The crash is under investigation.
