AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Givens Pool will reopen on Saturday after closing in 2019 due to leaks in the pool shell.

Six years later, the pool will open just in time for the summer, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. at 3811 East 12th St.

After the ribbon-cutting, there will be a community celebration featuring free food, games, and giveaways from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., according to the city of Austin.

New amenities for the community pool include a lap lane pool, zero-entry activity pool, spray ground features, diving board, bathhouses, and more, according to the press release.

The city said the pool will also offer swim classes for babies, children, and adults on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. To learn more about the classes, visit the city's website.
