ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A few months after filing for bankruptcy, Hooters is closing dozens of restaurants across the country — including some in Georgia.

At least four locations across the state have permanently shut down in this recent round of closures. Those include:

209 Peachtree Road NE in Atlanta

3550 Gwinnett Pl. Dr. NW in Duluth

6855 Douglas Blvd. in Douglasville

1854 Club House Drive in Valdosta

The Downtown Atlanta Hooters, a popular spot for tourists in the heart of the hotel district, had been in business since 2002.

The company released a statement saying the stores targeted for closure were owned by the corporation and that the decision came after “careful consideration.” The restaurant’s future plan is for all locations to be franchised.
