FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The suspect in a fatal February head-on crash on the New Bedford-Fairhaven bridge was arraigned Thursday at Fall River Superior Court, according to a statement from the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III.

Robert Campbell, 62, is facing charges of OUI manslaughter and OUI second offense stemming from the February 20 incident that left a 28-year-old Fairhaven man dead .

According to the Bristol County DA, Campbell was drinking at the Bitter End bar in Fairhaven before the incident, driving his vehicle over the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge.

Campbell then allegedly crossed over the double yellow line, striking the vehicle of Mason Evich head-on.

Evich was pronounced deceased at the scene.
