ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - United Supermarkets is closing one of their locations in north Abilene.

The store on the 2100 block of Pine Street will be closed for good effective July 19, due to performance issues.

United released the following statement regarding their decision to close the store:

As part of our ongoing commitment to assessing United Supermarkets store operations and overall performance, we have made the difficult decision to close the United Supermarkets location at Ambler and Pine Street in Abilene, TX, effective July 19. This decision does not reflect the dedication of our team or the community.
