The Florida Department of Transportation announced there will be lane and ramp closures on the Buckman Bridge this weekend as part of a project to replace the finger joints on the bridge.

According to FDOT, two lanes of Interstate 295 South over the Buckman Bridge, as well as the ramp from northbound U.S. 17 to I-295 South, will close at 10 p.m. Friday and reopen by 4 a.m. Monday.

During the closures, drivers on U.S. 17 North wishing to access I-295 South will take the ramp to I-295 North and exit at Blanding Boulevard to access I-295 South.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible and plan additional time for travel.

According to FDOT, in addition to bridge finger joint replacements, the project includes partial coatings and structural steel work on the I-295 Buckman
