A man was charged with assault Thursday in connection to a recent road rage incident involving a hatchet in Boston.
In the late hours of May 17, Andrew Oprian, 27, of Belmont became enraged when another driver attempted to pass him on Commonwealth Avenue, according to a statement from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
Oprian was driving 10 mph and swerving back and forth, the statement noted.
In response to the driver trying to pass him, Oprian allegedly drove them off the road and into a tree. The driver was disoriented from the crash and the car’s deployed airbags when Oprian approached the car and repeatedly smashed the windshield with a hatchet, authorities said.
