A burglar who was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle while stealing from a residence in unincorporated El Paso County Thursday afternoon was arrested, according to police.
Colorado Springs police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Powell Point, an apartment complex in Cimarron Hills, around 4 p.m. and discovered the suspect had arrived in a stolen vehicle and stole items from an apartment unit.
During their investigation, officers identified the suspect as Andrew Herod-Shirley and located him when he returned to the vehicle that was a few miles from the apartment complex. Police said he tried to flee on foot but was arrested.
The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner.
Herod-Shirley is being held in the El Paso County jail on a $10,000 bond.
