Severe thunderstorms are likely to develop over eastern New Mexico on Friday.

The severe weather probabilities will be greatest in far east and east central New Mexico.

Storms that develop have the risk of producing strong winds, very large hail and isolated tornadoes.

Hail threat

Very large hail is likely one of the biggest threats with storms that develop in eastern New Mexico on Friday.

De Baca, Chaves, Curry, Roosevelt and Lea counties have the greatest hail threat with the possibility of significant hail.
