Man sells stolen weapons to undercover agent, sentenced to over 12 years for firearms trafficking

SAN ANTONIO — A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to more than 12 years for trafficking weapons, including to an undercover agent.

Joel Alejandro Martinez, AKA Bo Jackson, was identified by officials as being a "frequent seller of stolen firearms" in online chat groups.

On Jan. 10, 2024, Martinez posted two pistols for sale and agreed to sell them to a buyer in San Antonio.

On Feb. 28, Martinez was driven by his mother to an agreed-upon location. He unloaded a black rifle case from his mother's truck. He then placed it in the backseat of the purchaser's vehicle.

The purchaser then paid Martinez $1,100 in cash for the .308 caliber rifle.
