NORTHERN MICHIGAN — The first weekend in June is jam-packed with fun things to do in Northern Michigan.

"A Carnival of Characters"
The Petoskey District Library will launch its annual summer reading program on Friday, June 6 with "A Carnival of Characters.”
The free, family-friendly event will take place from 6-8 p.m. in the labyrinth area outside the library and on Waukazoo Avenue.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet an array of costumed characters, including: Members of the 501st Legion from Star Wars, the iconic Ghostbusters and their Ectomobile, a classic DeLorean like the time-traveling version from “Back to the Future,” Phantom the Mermaid and Thunder the Timberwolf from North Central Michigan College.
