AUSTIN, Texas — Drivers in northwest Austin may want to plan their routes ahead of time this weekend, thanks to a major closure on U.S. 183.

Staring Friday and lasting until Sunday, three of the four southbound main lanes of U.S. 183 will be closed from Hunters Chase Drive/Oceanaire Boulevard to Riata Trace Parkway/Pavilion Boulevard. The closure will be continuous, lasting 24 hours a day through the weekend.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) said crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to reopen access to the lanes in this area.
