BEVERLY SHORES — A 28-year-old man is accused of leading police on a 100-mph chase Thursday night from Beverly Shores to Gary just hours before he was due in court on allegations of an earlier police case, records show.

Chandler Mitchell, of Michigan City, is accused fleeing from a Beverly Shores police officer shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday and leading a chase west on U.S. 12 that exceeded 100 mph, according to Porter County police.

Mitchell made several unsafe lane changes during the pursuit and did not attempt to slow down for the flashing red light at the intersection of Porter-Lake County Road, police said.
