Fuchs Mizrachi School sophomore point guard Moshe Jacobs led his team to the championship of The David Tanzman Memorial Tournament on Feb. 2 at Farber Jewish Day School in Southfield, Mich. The victory avenged an earlier tournament loss to Farber.

Jacobs averaged about 17 points per game this season in helping the Mayhem to a 14-4 record. His play this season has earned him this week’s Cleveland Jewish News Les Levine High School Player of the Week.

Head coach Zac Katz said Jacobs is “impressive” as a shooting guard.

“He’s a great shooter, but he’s also very coachable,” Katz told the Cleveland Jewish News. “So, if his shot was off, we coached him to become a great driver and become good at defense, (and) his defense improved significantly from last year.”
