BAILEYTON, Ala. – Mayor Windell Calloway called the monthly session of the Baileyton Town Council to order on June 2, with Councilman Benny Guthrie opening the meeting with an invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The council started the meeting by closing out old business. First on the agenda, Town Clerk Summer Bixler discussed her efforts in organizing the financial statements from prior to the beginning of her tenure. Bixler stated that while trying to enter all the scattered information into the online platform QuickBooks, “It was a disaster.” She said it’s an ongoing process, but the Town now only has two months’ worth of 2024 statements left to update before its audit can be completed.
