BRITT, MN — An early morning fire broke out Friday at the former Elroy Supper Club, which had been converted into a residence.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby called 911 around 4:37 a.m. on June 6 after spotting flames coming through the roof of the building located in the 7200 block of Britt Bypass, about 10 miles north of Virginia.
The witness reportedly honked their horn to alert the residents. A man and woman inside were able to escape the blaze unharmed.
Multiple fire departments responded and remain on scene battling the active fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
