Oliver and Danai are ambitious teenagers. Sixteen-year-old Oliver wants to study business at college and Danai, tourism. “I really like exploring the world,” she tells me, laughing to herself now and then, in the way teenagers do when they’re feeling self-conscious.
Danai takes a while to express herself, almost as though the words are stuck in her throat, but when the thoughts formulate they are wise and self-reflective. “I’ve seen a change in myself here. I’ve got a better understanding of myself.”
