HAMPTON — A suspect faces multiple felony charges for allegedly firing a gun at Hampton Beach on June 5.

Hampton Police Chief Alex Reno said Connor Knowles, 21, of Northborough, Massachusetts, was arraigned Friday morning, June 6, at Hampton Circuit Court, charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, and falsifying physical evidence. All counts are Class B felonies each carrying possible sentences of from 3 to 7 years in prison. He is also charged with two Class A misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

The charges stem from an incident at Hampton Beach that began at 7:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, when gunfire rang out in a crowded beach center, Reno said.
