165 animals are now in the care of animal service organizations across the state after they were surrendered from a single home in Windsor last Wednesday.

Police said the home was located on Bunker Hill Road. Investigators said they received a complaint in April. Investigators determined that the number of animals was unhealthy for the two unnamed people living there.

Police said that they are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The animals that were surrendered include:

28 Dogs

14 Cats

11 Guinea Pigs

40 Sugar Gliders (small marsupials)

4 Rabbits

68 Birds

Jackie Stanley, the executive director of Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, said that she nor the shelter have assisted with a surrender like this before.
