SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Healey-Driscoll Administration is now inviting schools and districts across the state to apply for no-cost early literacy tutoring to help young students build up their reading skills.

The program offers one-on-one and small group tutoring for students in kindergarten through third grade. Sessions are held multiple times a week for at least 10 weeks and can be in-person or virtual.

The program was created by Healey using a proposed $25 million investment to improve the reading skills of kids in the Bay State.

Healey has also started a new “Literacy Launch” tutoring initiative, which provides educator training, curriculum support, and district grants.
