Jury selection began Thursday in the trial of a firefighter from Ireland who allegedly raped a woman at a Boston hotel during the city’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend celebrations last year.
Impanelment got underway in Suffolk Superior Court, where Terence Crosbie , 38, of Dublin, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of rape.
Crosbie is accused of raping a woman in her sleep in March 2024 during a visit to participate in Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day parade with fellow members of the Dublin Fire Brigade.
Prosecutors allege that Crosbie raped a “female stranger” at the Omni Parker House hotel in downtown Boston on March 14, 2024.
The 28-year-old woman went to dinner with coworkers and met a man, Liam O’Brien, along with his fellow Irish firefighters, officials said.
