Some of the candidates for mayor are coming together, pledging to reverse Mayor Eric Adams’ proposed rent hike on New Yorkers using CityFHEPS if elected mayor.
Adrienne Adams, Brad Lander, Zohran Mamdani, Zellnor Myrie, Jessica Ramos, and Scott Stringer are joining a united front to reverse the proposal.
Advocates say the rent hike will increase homelessness and housing instability in the city.
The campaign was organized by the group WIN, which is the largest provider of shelter and supportive housing in the city.
Christine Quinn, WIN’s Executive Director, exclusively joined Annika Pergament on “The Rush Hour” to discuss the program, and give her reaction to the mayoral candidates’ housing plans.
