BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — For the first time in years, travelers in the capital city can hop on a plane and fly directly to one of the busiest airports in the world, Chicago O’Hare International.
American Airlines officially launched its daily nonstop service from Bismarck Airport to Chicago on Thursday. The first incoming flight landed at 12:53 p.m., and the outbound flight back to Chicago took off just after 1:30 p.m.
The new route means more than just a convenient two-hour trip to the Windy City. It connects Bismarck to hundreds of other destinations, including international cities like London, Tokyo, Paris, and Frankfurt, all accessible through O’Hare, which serves 270 destinations according to Cirium.
“This isn’t just for business travelers,” said Bismarck City Commissioner John Risch
