HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two Honolulu police officers are recovering from injuries sustained after they were assaulted by an armed suspect in Makiki on Thursday.

According to police, the officers were responding to a report of a 25-year-old man acting erratically near the intersection of Piikoi Street and King Street at around 6:30 p.m.

Police said the suspect was armed with a knife and injured both officers.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. The officers were taken to hospital for treatment.

At this time, there is no word on their condition.

An investigation is pending.
