NEW YORK — A suspect has been arrested following the theft of two “irreplaceable” instruments from the rock band Heart in Atlantic City.
Garfield Bennett, 57, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, has been charged with burglary and theft, the Atlantic City Police Department announced Thursday.
The charges come days after the “Barracuda” rockers discovered a guitar and a mandolin had been swiped last Saturday from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The gear had been set up the day prior in preparation for the kickoff of the “Evening With Heart” tour at the South Jersey venue.
According to the band, the stolen guitar — a custom-built, purple sparkle baritone Telecaster with a hand-painted headstock — belonged to Nancy Wilson, while the mandolin was Paul Moak’s vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 that he’s owned
