Max Fried was unbeatable for nearly two months into his first season with the New York Yankees until running into the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Coming off his first defeat of the season, Fried aims to start another winning streak Thursday night when the Yankees host the Cleveland Guardians.

The Yankees are attempting to win a series for the eighth time in nine tries after being held to five hits in Wednesday's 4-0 loss. Aaron Judge had two singles as the Yankees were blanked for the second time this season.

"We just didn't have a great night," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. "It happens."

Fried (7-1, 1.92 ERA) allowed two earned runs or fewer in his first 11 starts until Friday's 8-5 loss to the Dodgers. Facing the defending World Champions, Fried was tagged for six runs
