SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio Police Department detective was arrested while off-duty and accused of driving drunk early Friday morning, officials say.

Detective Albert Garansuay was taken into custody around 2 a.m. Friday. Police did not provide any other details of his arrest.

Detective Garansuay works for the SAPD Street Crimes Gun Unit and has been with the department for 19 years.

SAPD says is investigating this as both a criminal incident and an administrative incident. He has been placed on administrative duty pending the investigations.
