The parents of a baby girl who suffocated to death at nursery have said their new campaign to improve safety standards in early years settings is to "show devotion" to their "wonderful" daughter.

Nine-month-old Genevieve 'Gigi' Meehan was tightly swaddled and strapped face down on a beanbag for more than an hour and a half at a nursery in Stockport .

Nursery worker Kate Roughley , 38, was jailed for 14 years after being found guilty of manslaughter.

In memory of Genevieve, parents Katie Wheeler and John Meehan are calling for the government to change the law to help "stop other parents suffering in the way that we have suffered".
