ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Albany Police announced an upcoming three-day multi-agency hazmat training session scheduled for June 9, 10, and 11. The exercises will be held in several downtown locations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all three days.

The training will take place at and around the Port of Albany, the USS Slater on Broadway, the Palace Theatre, and along the Hudson River. Albany Police will be joined alongside the New York National Guard Civil Support Team, the Albany Fire Department, and New York State Police.

The exercises will focus on simulating an emergency response to hazardous materials and their subsequent removal and decontamination efforts. Safety procedures will be in place to ensure there's no threat to the public's well-being, and traffic in the training areas will not b
