WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — Seven West Palm Beach police officers face charges in connection with a Boynton Beach crash that killed two women last year.
An affidavit said that six of the officers, five of whom were members of the Gang and Habitual Offender Suppression Team (GHOST), were conducting an arrest for an armed robbery on July 30, 2024.
According to NBC affiliate WPTV, the officers were searching for Neoni Copeland, 23, in connection with a separate incident that escalated into a police pursuit. Copeland was fleeing police in his gray Kia Stinger when he crashed into another vehicle.
Two women inside the vehicle, Marcia Pochette, 57, and her daughter Jenice Woods, 27, who was pregnant at the time. Both died in the crash.
