WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for much of the state.

The advisory is due to fine particulates and air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for them.

The air quality alert for north country counties like Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties will last until midnight on Saturday.

Other counties like Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus are also under the advisory.
