Robert De Niro called up his good friend Martin Scorsese just to say good night.

The actor gave Scorsese a ring as part of a new TikTok trend where men call each other to say good night, and their reactions to the sweet farewell range from shock to disbelief to laughter.

Scorsese was no different once he answered the phone, according to a video posted on TikTok on June 5.

"Calling to say good night!" De Niro, 81, said.

"OK!" Scorsese, 82, replied.

"And sleep tight!" De Niro added.

"Thank you!" Scorsese said.

De Niro then told his pal he was trying to FaceTime him.

"Yeah, sure," Scorsese said as he pressed the button to join the FaceTime. "Oh, here we are! What are you doing?"

De Niro turned the phone around to show Scorsese that he was watching a group of people dancing on TV.
