Henrico County's Taylor Farm Park received national recognition from the National Recreation and Park Association.

The $26 million, 99-acre park opened last summer in Sandston. Around 70,000 people visited the park during its opening week. Since then, it's seen more than 400,000 visitors.

Taylor Farm was awarded the NRPA's 2025 Innovation in Park Design Award. That award recognizes park and recreation agencies for their work in design, health and well-being, environmental resilience and equity. Taylor Farm was chosen from a pool of 225 applicants.

John Zannino, director for Henrico Recreation and Parks, said the award was a "monumental moment" for the agency.
