At 7:47 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released an updated severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 8 p.m. for Tioga County.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail (1 inch) are probable.

"At 7:46 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Mansfield, moving east at 50 mph," states the weather service. "Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees."

Locations impacted by the warning include Mansfield, Wellsboro, Covington, Keeneyville, Tioga, Roseville and Mansfield University.

According to the weather service, "Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows."
