OMAHA, Neb. (KTIV) - A federal judge has sentenced a Winnebago, Nebraska, woman to 25 years in prison for a 2022 murder on the Winnebago Reservation.

Back in February 2025, a federal jury, in Omaha, found Michelle Lee Marr guilty of one count of second-degree murder and one count of tampering with documents or proceedings.

Marr will serve the 25-year sentence for murder, and a 20-year sentence for tampering, at the same time. But she faces five years of supervised release after she gets out of prison.

Prosecutors say Marr killed the victim , identified only by the initials J.G., with “malice aforethought.”

In a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Marr contacted Winnebago EMS on March 12, 2022, to report that J.G. was not waking up and requested an ambulance. EMS transported
