(TNND) — The Trump administration is going straight to the Supreme Court to put a stop to a court ordered reinstatement of the Education Department employees they fired.

The Justice Department is appealing a ruling by the U.S. District Judge Myong Joun in Boston. They say he exceeded his authority when he issued an injunction reversing the layoffs of nearly 1,400 People.

The order has for the time being blocked the Administration from their promise of eliminating the Department of Education.

There is some history here as well, in April the Supreme Court voted 5-4 to block Joun’s earlier order seeking to keep in place Education Department teacher-training grants.
